Back From Fall Break

I haven’t written in here in forever! I’m sorry I’m not as good about it as I used to be but I’m going to try and be better..not for any of my “readers” because I’m pretty sure I don’t have any of those haha! BUT I do love writing for me and playing around on here is always fun so I’ll just try and do that. Writing has always been a great wya for me to make since of my thoughts, so if nothing else I hope I do that.

This past weekend I was in Estes Park, CO with 6 of my best friends! It was an amazing trip and I loved showing them Wind River Ranch, a place Whitney and I have grown up at each summer. I couldn’t have been more blessed by the time we shared there.

We were able to relax, hike and just play. It was such a blessed trip that I will never forget. 🙂 Thanks to my amazing friends, CC, BriAnn, Cara, Whitney, T Derr, Brianna, I LOVE YALL.

Rainy Morning Bliss

I LOVE rainy mornings in our new house! Surprisingly enough we have had quite a few already this year. The car port is right outside my window so I get to hear the rain trickle down on the metal and snuggle up even more under the covers:) What is it about the rain that’s so soothing? I think I like the after math the best. The coolness in the air and the fresh smell of wet grass. Everything has been washed clean through its presence…a good reminder of what Christ has done. Washed me clean:) Thankful this morning.

Senior Year??? Already??

I can not believe it is the first Friday of Senior Year. My last year in school? This is crazy! I’ve been so busy I haven’t had time to check into this little place of blogging but I do hope I get back into the habit because it’s something I enjoy. If nothing else this blog is fun for me to play with. Anyway 🙂 Whitney, BriAnn and I have moved into the greatest house on earth. The Phossil. When I say “greatest” I mean tiny, adorable, old, creaky, out-of-the-roof-utility-bills, front porch kitty, house. (Might I add, against the will of every other Baylor girl, I have poured water on it in hopes it goes away). But this house is already feeling like home. Whitney, BriAnn and I each have found ourselves renewed and filled with joy after a summer of different adventures. I believe God has guided our hearts together for

“…for such a time as this.” Esther 4:14

I know in my own heart He has done greater things than I could have imagined with just these last few months as I have been available and seeking Him every morning and through out the day.

“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13

My morning prayer today is simple. That He would continue to be at the front of my mind and that I would not be able to deny His love for me. God I pray today you remind me again how much you love me. Let me ever aware of my poverty and bring me to a place of humility. I ask all of this in Jesus name.

Hello Friends!

I have not posted on this blog in FOREVER and I am so sorry about that! I have been having a wonderful, yet challenging summer with an internship at a Brazilian Steak House, traveling for work and with family and I feel like I am JUST now able to relax and enjoy summer ( only 3 weeks left)! This is the time of the summer that I get nostalgic BUT this year it’s different I am so excited for Senior year because then the real world awaits! I learned so much from my internship and even learned quite a few things I don’t want to do for my “grown up” job. For instance I MUST be outside, or at least on the move. It pains me to sit at a desk all day. corporate America might not be for me.

I was able to take a trip with my second family…the Berlins a few weeks ago to Newport Rhode Island. WOW all I can say is it is SO beautiful up there! And those northerners aren’t too bad;) We had the most amazing time and I loved every second spent with little T. She is getting SO big and old…I can’t believe it. Annie is growing into the most beautiful young woman and can kick any ones you-know-what in tennis! We went on a run together one morning & she did GREAT!

Straight from RI to CO to meet up with my family for a week in heaven on earth, Estes Park. I love my family and this trip reminded me how amazing they are and how FUN we are too:). At the beginning of the week I asked them to pray over me and that God would really use this time to spark a fire in my heart again. I believe he did just that. I’ve been fighting a lot of different things this summer and God has been my rock, even in the mess ups. I am thankful. And I’m thankful for how he is guiding me even now, even today to be more like him. My hope is that I would be so in tune with his thoughts that they become mine.

This morning Mom and I went for an hr run/walk at my favorite place. The Katy Trail. It was a perfect morning and I am really savoring them as soon I will head back to Waco (not my favorite place to run). Hopefully I’ll find a place I can really enjoy this year as I gear up to train for my half in February! WAHOO!

Lots and lots of exciting things headed my way and I hope only to grow closer to Christ through it all. A verse I have loved this summer is 1 Peter 5:7-9

“Cast your anxieties upon Him for he cares for you. Be self disciplined and alert. Your enemy, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Resist him and stand firm in the faith.”

Getting back into the “swing a’ things!”

I am so happy to FINALLY be writing to y’all! This post is way over due but I’ll try and fill y’all in a little bit on what has been going on. Really quick, this morning I was able to get up and head to the Katy Trail…shocker! hehe and I ran my 4 miles! Such an amazing morning. Yesterday at 4PM on the Katy Trail a walk started called “Carry the Load”. It is a walk that honors veterans and those who passed during service. Men (and women) were walking with their army packs on and some in full uniform, through the night until later this afternoon. Amazing.

Whitney, BriAnn and I have moved out of our apartment and Waco and will be moving into a house for Senior year..thrilled!! It’s going to be a great year!

Summer so far has been pretty crazy and I feel like I’m finally getting into a routine. Next Monday I start my internship with Texas De Brazil. I’m so excited but I’m also nervous! I have no idea what to wear or expect! I am so happy though because in a few weeks I’ll be headed to Denver with the team for some kind of event! I love traveling and I’m THRILLED to be going. Every summer wonderful opportunities seem to come my way like this. Last year I was able to go to, Malibu, Orlando, Jackson Hole, NC, and Estes Park. This summer I’ll be headed to Denver, Boston, Rhode Island, and Estes Park. I am so so thankful for each opportunity! Denver is with my internship and the rest are with family or friends.

Today will be bliss! We are all just hanging out by the pool and relaxing. I’m going to enjoy time being with family today and remember all of the people who sacrificed so much for me to do so. Sorry this post is so short and random! Many more coming soon:) Happy to be home and getting into the summer mindset.

Hey, everyone! I’m sorry I’ve been so MIA recently! It’s been so crazy here with finals, friends, functions…haha and family…see a pattern? 😉 Anyway I am officially finished with my Junior year of college…how WEIRD is that? I wish time would slow down but at the same time I am so excited for all that is ahead! Especially this summer. Summer is my all time favorite season. Personally I believe I grow the most during the summers. Probably because I can make my own schedule, be with my family and really focus on the things I want to focus on.

I’ve been thinking a lot about what I want this blog to look like, be about this summer and I have a few exciting ideas so I’ll keep you posted (literally through posts) hehe! I’ve been learning so much about myself these past few weeks by really focusing on what I want my day to be like each morning and it is AMAZING what thoughts can do change your outlook or mood on a day. I know you’ve probably heard that but have you ever TRIED it? Seriously try it! In vision your day, your goals and the things you want become more realistic. All about discipline:)

Here are a few summer goals I have in mind: (I’m sure I’ll post a more in depth version later today or tomorrow!)

-Get my miles back up, specifically 6 miles every morning. Many of you know that I ran my first Half Marathon in Feb. It was one of the greatest experiences of my life! Since then I have continued running but have not kept my miles up so I am looking forward to laying out a schedule to do so! My house is only about 2 miles from Katy Trail and a goal of mine this summer is to run to the Katy Trail, run a little at the Katy Trail and come home!

-Blog more…:) Most summers this is easy!

-Read 5 (or MORE) books!

-Take Summer Online classes seriously………this will be difficult haha!

-Cook more! I want to learn more recipes this summer. As many of you might have seen I am a ToneItUp team member and loving every second! I plan on following their nutrition plan all summer to continue my healthy lifestyle!

-Enjoy time with my family (this isn’t really a goal but more of a “Yay, I’m excited for this type thing 🙂

I’m sure I’ll think of more but this is it so far! I believe goals are the key to setting standards for yourself, bettering yourself and PUSHING yourself to be the best YOU possible!

Dad on a BIG ride last week! So proud of him…:)

Beautiful Dallas Morning

Good morning everyone! Today is going to be absolutely beautiful!! I’m having a little cup of coffee before a morning walk with my Mom. Why is spring so perfect? seriously?? It is so gorgeous and my FAVORITE time of the year. Everything is alive and blossoming. When I grow up I need to find a forever spring kind of place to live. Sunshine all the time. This week I have been pretending like I’m done with school which is probably a terrible idea for when I dive back into finals this next week….ew. BUT I can almost taste summer, especially mornings like this one. I am so thankful for my time at home to recharge and just be. My family is the greatest part of my life so I love being with them…missing Whitney though:) It’s going to be a great weekend!

I hope this weekend you get out and enjoy yourself! Head to a park, see a play, go swimming, just do something for YOU! 🙂

Tone It Up!

I wanted to do a quick post to fill everyone in on my new endeavor:) It’s a program called ToneItUp! with trainers Katrina and Karena! It is absolutely amazing! They have a whole nutrition plan along with daily workout challenges! I’m in love. I just love the motivation and the community feel they have created. It’s so important to me to stay healthy and fit! I’ve loved learning more and more about the nutrition side of fitness and health. K and K are truly an inspiration and they make it easy to stay on track with positivity! Here are the girls in a little video they did to pump everyone up for Bikini season!

Quick side note: I’m home for a 4 day weekend! We had DIA yesterday and today I had no classes so Wednesday I came home with my Dad after he was a guest speaker in one of my classes! I’ve been able to hit up Katy Trail, White Rock and in a little while I’ll be at Northpark. Oh how I love home.
